SOVAKA Lifesciences Launches Dental Radiology Technician Training in Pune

Pune, Maharashtra [India]: As advanced diagnostic imaging becomes an integral part of modern dentistry, the demand for skilled professionals capable of operating sophisticated dental imaging equipment is growing steadily. Responding to this need, SOVAKA Lifesciences (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. has launched a Dental Radiology Technician Training Program in Pune, a one-month hands-on course designed to prepare aspiring professionals for careers in CBCT and OPG imaging through real clinical experience.
The initiative is built on the foundation of Nidaan’s 40-plus years of expertise in oral and dental radiology. Over the decades, the organisation has witnessed a persistent shortage of trained dental radiology technicians, even as dental clinics and diagnostic centres have increasingly adopted advanced imaging technologies. Through this program, SOVAKA aims to bridge that gap by creating a skilled workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of the dental healthcare sector.
Meeting the Demand for Skilled Professionals
The growing use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and Orthopantomogram (OPG) imaging has transformed dental diagnosis and treatment planning. These technologies are now widely used for procedures including dental implants, orthodontics, oral surgery and maxillofacial care. However, the availability of trained professionals capable of operating these systems has not kept pace with industry growth.
Recognising this challenge, SOVAKA has designed a program that prioritises practical learning over conventional classroom instruction. Instead of relying on simulated demonstrations, trainees receive hands-on exposure inside operational Nidaan CBCT & OPG centres, where they work alongside experienced clinical teams and observe real patient workflows.
Hands-on Clinical Learning
The one-month training program provides participants with practical knowledge of the complete dental imaging process. The curriculum includes patient positioning techniques, OPG image acquisition, CBCT workflow, FDI tooth numbering, Frankfort plane alignment, TMJ positioning, radiation safety in accordance with AERB guidelines, and digital imaging systems such as DICOM and cloud-based PACS.
By learning within a functioning clinical environment, trainees gain practical experience with industry-standard equipment while understanding the workflow and professional standards expected in modern diagnostic centres.
Inclusive Eligibility
SOVAKA has kept the eligibility criteria accessible to encourage participation from diverse educational backgrounds.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have completed Class 12, possess basic computer knowledge and be comfortable learning in English, Marathi or Hindi. A science background is not mandatory, and students from Arts, Commerce, vocational education and other streams are eligible to apply. No prior healthcare experience is required.
According to the company, professionalism, sincerity and a willingness to learn are considered key attributes for building a successful career in dental radiology.
Focused on Pune’s Local Talent
The current training program is exclusively open to candidates from Pune and adjoining areas. Since practical instruction is conducted within active diagnostic centres, the company has chosen to maintain smaller batches that allow trainees to receive individual attention while working in live clinical settings.
This regional approach is intended to develop a strong local talent pool that can support the growing demand for skilled dental imaging professionals across Pune and neighbouring regions.
Career Opportunities After Training
Beyond technical education, the program has been designed to improve employment prospects for participants.
Candidates who successfully complete the course and demonstrate strong technical skills and professional conduct may be considered for opportunities within the expanding SOVAKA and Nidaan network. Potential roles include CBCT Technician, OPG Technician, Radiology Workflow Coordinator and Diagnostic Centre Operations Executive.
Graduates will also be included in the SOVAKA & Nidaan Certified Professionals Registry, providing employers with a verifiable record of trained professionals.
Supporting an Expanding Imaging Network
The technician training initiative complements SOVAKA Lifesciences’ ongoing expansion of the Nidaan CBCT & OPG network across Maharashtra through its Franchise-Owned, Company-Operated (FOCO) model.
The model enables healthcare entrepreneurs, dentists and diagnostic operators to establish professionally managed imaging centres while SOVAKA manages radiology staffing, standardised operating procedures, cloud-based reporting and technology infrastructure.
According to the company, the network currently comprises six operational centres, performs more than 1,000 CBCT scans every month, and is supported by a central team of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiologists delivering reports within 12 to 24 hours.
As the network expands, graduates from the training program are expected to contribute to the growing demand for qualified dental imaging professionals.
Building the Future of Dental Imaging
The launch of the Dental Radiology Technician Training Program reflects SOVAKA Lifesciences’ broader vision of building an integrated dental imaging ecosystem in India. Alongside workforce development, the company continues to invest in cloud-enabled imaging infrastructure, AI-assisted reporting solutions and teleradiology capabilities aimed at improving efficiency, accessibility and standardisation across dental diagnostics.
By combining advanced technology with practical skill development, SOVAKA aims to strengthen India’s dental imaging ecosystem while creating new career opportunities for aspiring healthcare professionals.
Applications for the Pune Dental Radiology Technician Training Program are currently open on a rolling basis, subject to batch availability. Eligible candidates from Pune and neighbouring areas can apply through SOVAKA Lifesciences’ official training portal.
